Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very bad day...

So why is it when one thing goes wrong, the whole day seems to be ruined!! Even when I try to have a good attitude and have each hit not get me down. But then they just keep coming and coming. So here is my bad day run down.

1. So Lilo still has issues with Tiki. I thought she was getting better, but I was probably deluding myself. Well if I had and delusions left, they have been squashed this morning. I put Tiki in his crate and had let Lilo and Stitch have their turn playing, when she went up to his crate and snarlled at him...again. Nothing new in that, except this time Tiki finally got up enough guts to snarl back. Well that really made Lilo mad and she tried to kill him thru his crate. She hit is crate so hard she moved it several feet and almost flipped it. Needless to say, I went a little postal on her and now she doesn't want anything to do with me. So of course I feel horrible about that, even though she probably desereved it.

2. My tech for worked called in sick last night. So I left early today so that I could get the pharamcy caught up, and could make it until my 9:30am tech came in. Well I got there and realized I forgot my keys to the pharmacy. They are on a seperate ring that I can take off for the weekend and not have a million keys on me all the time. Well no problem, I will just use the back up keys in the lock box in the back. Except I got there, and there were NO KEYS!! The pharmacist from yesterday took the keys home with her by mistake. So I had to drive all the way home, and opened up 5 minutes late.

3. Because I opened late, and had no help, the customers were all mad at me!! Jeesh, like I ment to forget my keys, and have the back up ones missing!! And also have no opening tech, so since there is only me to fill prescriptions for the 10 of you, yes it is going to take me the full 30 minutes! Don't like it, go somewhere else!

4. I am still SICK. My head is congested, my voice is hoarce, I can hardly hear, and every once in a while I get kind of dizzy and light headed. But if I am not there, the pharmacy doesn't open. So I am there.

5. The day was crazy! What did everybody decide to see their doctor at the same time TODAY! I mean seriously, how is it we can be going along at a steady pace, and then all of the sudden, there are 10 people dropping off prescriptions, and 20 faxed in, and 6 voicemails called in, and about 15 phone calls?! All at the same TIME! I just don't understand it. Is there like some biological pulse out in the world that tells everybody to go to the pharmacy.....wait for it....wait for it....and NOW! I kid you not, it is the weirdest thing.

And now I am home, Lilo is still growling at Tiki and I just wish she would disappear! Of course I don't really mean it, I would die if anything happened to her, but I am very frustrated with it all today. So I am ready for the day to end. I just want to curl up into bed and hope that tommorow goes better. I am going to try and look for the silver lining in it all, and when I find it, I will let you all know.

And if you see the silver lining that I can't see right now, let me know. I would appreciate any help I can get. Maybe tommorow will be the super awesome, fun loving, dogs get along, miraculous day I am hoping for. Er....probably not, but here's hoping!

Since when did I have muscles

So as some of you may know I decided that I needed to take charge of my health and start working on loosing weight and getting healthy. So I joined Bally's gym here in town with Dad and Mom. I knew that the only way that I would ever go there was if I hired a personal trainer and started to work with them for a while. So the manager who signed us up introduced mom, dad, and myself to James.

Thanks to James I have now discovered muscles that I truley did not think exsisted. In fact one of the first times I met with him, he made my legs hurt so bad that I could not walk with out say "OW, OW, OW, OW, OW" for a week! Oddly when I told him that, he just smilled and told me to do more squats!! Since then I have slowly started to get better and better, and am usually not sore at all any more. But yesterday I decided to really push myself! I did 30 minutes on the eliptical machine, and then did leg press, leg curls, arm press and a bunch of other things. I actually made myself sore!!

The only problem......I had to work with James this morning! He decided since my legs were already sore, that he would work on my abs and arms. So now my ENTIRE body, from head to toe, is in pain. (Except my fingers, otherwise there is no way I would be typing right now!) I can feel every movement. It sucks. James' name has been followed by a few curse words thru out the day. But I have lost 40lbs and I know I couldn't have done it with out his expertise in torture!

So hopefully as I continue to work out AND watch my diet, I will continue to shrink and find and use new muscles that I didn't have before! Who knows, maybe one day I will even climb the rock wall at the club! Maybe.......

Thank Goodness for Cooking Lessons

So as some of you may know, or you may not, I am the worlds worst cook. Ok let me rephrase that, I am not a bad cook, I just don't know how to cook anything. I blame my mother. She never liked having kids in the kitchen, and just wanted to make dinner and be done with it. And now that I think about, that was probably a good thing, because who really wants to learn how to make spaghetti with Campbells tomato SOUP instead of spaghetti sauce. (if you aren't already, this is the part where you should be saying EWWWWWW!) I can however grill. You need steak, chicken or porked grilled, then I am your girl.

The good news is that I have this fabulous friend, Danita, who is teaching me how to cook and how to enjoy eating all sorts of different things. She learned all these great recipies from her families restaurant that they own at Cannon Beach. (which by the way, the next time you are there you HAVE to go to J.P.'s at Cannon Beach and have the Clam and Salmon Chowder, you will not be sorry!) So far I have learned how to make stirfry, salsa, kota fetta (a nummy chicken, rice and fetta chesse dish) a pasta salad, and tuscan chicken sandwich! Although some of these are not on my life style change program, I do try to keep my portions down and use the healthiest ingrediants possible.

So now the next time you come to visit me and Disney dogs, you won't starve and you may even get a decent home cooked meal. But you eat at YOUR OWN RISK! I make no promises that it will turn out as good without Danita here.

Death to the Orange Spider!

This is Lilo of the Disney Dogs!! Mom stepped away from the computer, but stayed signed on to her blog account by accident! (Something she learned from our Grandma!) So I thought I would post our big save of the day! Tiki, Stitch and I killed a GIANT ORANGE SPIDER!!
It invaded our house yesterday after we went to our Aunt Connie's and Aunt Melody's Halloween Party! We got home from the party and this giant thing had snuck in. Mom didn't even seem to mind touching it! Usually she kills all the spiders that come into the house, but not this one. So we had to take care of it. It put up one heck of a fight. It gave my brothers run for their money!

But I had no problems with it at all!

Me (lilo) and Stitch really went after it. Take a look at this video clip where we killed it good!

So if you need help getting rid of unwanted pests give the Disney Dogs a call. We'll get rid of any of those nasty bugs for you, or soccer balls, bones, toys, shoes left on the floor, or any other unwanted item give us a call. Uh oh, Tiki says mom is coming back!! Well gotta go!

Until next time, Lilo, Stitch and Tiki! (Do you think she will notice all the muddy paw prints Stitch?)

I Bleed Black and Orange

I Love OREGON STATE FOOTBALL!! I have always loved OSU football since I was kid. Even when they were the worst team in the Pac-10 for 30 years. I remember Dad taking us down to Corvallis as kids and letting us watch the game (in the pooring rain) and yell our guts out supporting our loosing team. But over the past 8 years we FINALLY have a team worth being proud of, most of the time. It can be hard supporting a team that can sometimes be so great, and other times be so off. But this year we have the chance to number 1 in the Pac-10 for the first time in DECADES! It would never have been possible if we hadn't beat USC again this year, but the Beavers pulled it off. (I hate USC!!)

It was hard when they lost to Utah this year. I even flew out to Utah and was at that game. (Along with my best friend and faithful Beaver fan, Penny, and my cousin Jake) They had controll of the game the whole 2nd half and lost their 8 pt. lead, but that's what will seperate the true fans from the fickle. I have been there for the bad, like when we had the heartbreak of loosing to LSU (I hate LSU!!) to the great first USC win in years at the "Opossum" game!! (Did I mention that I hate USC) Right now I am watching James and Quizz Rodgers run all over the Huskies (I love those brothers right now!) and loving every minute of it. (I hate the Huskies.)

So I will continue to root for my team no matter what (although I do hope we never go back to being as bad as we were!!), and root for which ever team is playing against the Ducks. (Except LSU or USC!) I will always bleed BLACK AND ORANGE!! Go BEAVER NATION!

Top 10 things that Pharmacist HATE

So for those of you that don't know, I am a pharmacist. I work at a local pharmacy and most days enjoy my job. But today was one of those days that no matter how hard you tried to help somebody, it was never good enough and they were still mad. So here are the Top 10 things that pharmacists hate when customers get mad at them for things we have no control over.

10. What do you mean I have no refills!
On EVERY bottle it tells you how many refills you have left and when they expire. I can't help that you didn't read it!
9. I have no medicine left, now what am I suppose to do?
Well for starters, pay attention to your refills, and don't wait until you have no meds left before you decide to fill it. We can loan 3-days worth on some meds, but not insulin, inhailers, controlled medications or meds not used on a regular basis. And again why would you wait until you had NO INSULIN left before you would try to refil it!
TIP #1: Call all refills in at least 5 days before you run out of medicine and you usually won't have any problems!
8. What do you mean you don't have the medication in stock!
Contrary to popular belief the pharmacy can not keep stock of every single medicine that has ever been made in the tiny box that we work in. Some things have to be special orderd, and some things are used so rarely that we can't afford to keep an expensive medicine on the shelf only to have it expire and loose money. Also when every one is gettting colds at the same time, we will run out of the same med eventually.
TIP #2: If you have a script for any injectable med, call the pharmacy first and find out if they have it. It will save you gas and a headache from running around town.
7. Why does my insurace require a Prior Authorization when my doctor ordered the medicine.
Doctors often write for medicines that the drug reps have just been there talking about, even when there is a less expensive alternative available. Your insurance company knows this and wants to make sure there is a good reason you need the expensive version, instead of the less expensive medication.
6. I don't have my insurance card, but I have (insert insurace company name here). Can you call them and get my information.
No. There are hundreds of different phone numbers for each company depending on your plan. Telling me Blue Cross does not help, since that are at least 100 different Blue Cross companies and no one is connected to the other.
5. I have my insurace companies phone number can you call them?
No. We help hundreds of patients everday and I don't have time to sit on hold for 20 minutes to get the information you are suppose to have for me! It is your job to prove you have insurance, not our job to track it down!
4. How much does this medicine cost with my insurance?
We don't know until we submit the claim. Meaning we have to type up the script and have the pharmacist approve it before we have any idea what it will cost. If you really want to know before you get it filled, call your insurance before you come.
3. What do you mean I have a (insert high co-pay cost here)!
I don't know either. Your insurance told us what to bill you, and I don't have control of it. Please check your plan before hand to know about your co-pays, covered meds, and possibl deductable.
2. I don't know what meds I need refilled. Just what ever ones you did last month.......and then
come the pharmacy mad because.....I didn't want that filled OR you didn't fill this new one! We are here to make sure that your prescription is filled as written, and that it doesn't interact with your other meds, and that your doctor didn't screw up and try to give you triple the dose that the medication actually calls for. HOWEVER, we are not here to keep track of your 17 meds, when they are due for refils, and when your doctor may have stopped or changed medications with out letting us know. Please take SOME RESPONSIBILITY for your own health care and keep track of when your meds are due and call in the correct ones!
1. My doctor said that was only 4 dollars!
Doctors are STUPID when it comes to the cost of medications. They have NO IDEA what medications cost. And what might seem inexpensive to them, might not seem that way to you!

TIP #3: Don't believe your doctor when they try to tell you anything about the price of medications!

So please pass this information along to those that you know. We love being able to help people and will always try to do our best, but we are not your slaves! We do have laws and rules to follow, and need to focus our time and helping patients, counseling, calling dr's offices and etc. These above things slow us down so that we can't do our jobs effectively, and again are not our faults.

Also, please don't yell at us about the wait times. We know that you have probably just spent 2 hours at the doctor's office and just want to get home, but really is 20 to 30 minutes that long to wait! Not when you realized that we are trying to make sure that you get the right medicine, for the right reasons, and right dosage, and that taking it won't kill you! Please give us the time that we need to make sure no mistake is made on the doctor's part or ours!

Dancing With the Stars

So I admit it. I love Dancing with the Stars. I don't know why, but I have been hooked ever since the first season! I love watching the dancers, the "stars", the drama and even host Tom Bergeron! Last night Chef Rocco DiSpirito was kicked off the show, which was no loss. Though he tried as hard as the other couples, he just didn't have any natural ability. Now if we can only get rid of Chloris Leachman. For an 82 year old women, she does an ok job, but she annoys the heck out of me. She just goes on and on and on about stupid stuff, and delays the show! Sure it is funny for the first 30 seconds, but come on, 2-3 minutes! I feel bad for her partner, he must just go insane working with her! So join me next week, by not voting for Chloris, and vote for Julianne and Cody! (my favorites) Then hopefully we can get her off the show!

And last but not least...

Drum roll please........and this is me! Allyson the crazy owner of the Disney Dogs. I live and work in Washington and have been here for almost 4 years. I love the great northwest and enjoy all the activities around this area. I also really love DISNEYLAND. In fact I just got back a few weeks ago, so I will have pictures to post soon. And I do love my dogs. Over the past 3 years I have discovered the new hobby of showing dogs. Yes just like the movie "Best in Show", and no they didn't really exagerate. Once you have a gone to a few shows, you realize there are some seriously crazy people there. I am fortunatley not one of those people, and will work hard to keep that from happening. But it is a lot of fun.

And when I am not showing dogs or hanging out at Disneyland, I can usually be found at the Pharmacy that I work at. I am the Pharmacy Manager at one of the Wal-Marts here and enjoy doing my job.....most days! I am also in our Relief Society presidency at the singles ward and am trying to attend most of the activities also. I figure I will probably stay single if I shut myself in the house with the dogs all the time! So look for me at an activity near you! And think of me if there are any cute single LDS guys in your area!

Brebeau's Adventures in the Tiki Room by Akilah

Whew! What a mouthful that is. But you can just call him Tiki. This is the newest addition to the family and is and Australian Shepherd. His coloring is called blue merle, and he is very adorable. He is currently 13 weeks old, and I am hoping that he will be my next show dog. He is very promising. He loves to play, eat, play, eat, cause trouble, play with Stitch, and has his ears rubbed. (what dog doesn't) He plays a lot with Stitch, and plays at Dog Care twice a week. He has a bunch of cattle dog friends, and one akita friend. He is very relaxed when at home, and is learning quickly. He has only 2 problems right now. 1) Lilo is not fond of him at all, which means I have to rotate dogs around and they can't be out at the same time with each other. 2) Lilo bit his ear and now he has some scar tissue that is causing it to look funny. So he has to have it rolled, glued, and taped to keep it from taking the wrong shape. Other than that he loves his life and is a very good little puppy.

Adventures Little Hawaiian Girl

This is Lilo, my middle child. And she is truly the middle child! She is also "suppose" to be a Miniature Bull Terrier, but she sort of outgrew the standard. She is bigger then Stitch and all muscle. She loves to play, chew, dig, chew, dig, run, bother Stitch, and lay on my bed! She isn't a show dog, and that is a good thing. She is truly terrified of strangers, and when around new people barks at them to try and keep them away from her. It usually works, she is able to get people to jump back a little with her LOUD bark. She is nervous around everyone except my family, and Aunt Carla! So if you meet her, just ignore her like she isn't there and you will both be fine. She also is not overly fond of Tiki, the newest addition to the family, but is slowly starting to get used to him. But she loves me and her Grandma to pieces, and loves nothing more than to ride in the truck with Grandpa.

Nedere's Adventures with Stitch

So this is my "first born" Stitch. He is a Miniature Bull Terrier and my first Champion Show dog. He is the life of the party and wants nothing more than to be loved and adored by all the humans around him. He is the number 1 weasel and can get just about anything he wants. Comfort and a warm blankie are his favorite things, as you can see. He loves everyone he meets and makes everyone want to take him home!!, And he really loves his Grandpa Doug (who loves him just as much)!! Check back for more of his Show results and updates!

Welcome to the Blog

So I am totally new at this, but it seems like a great way to keep in touch with people and letting them know what is going on! Hopefully I will get the hang of it soon, and everyone can come and see what is going on with me and the Disney Dogs, Lilo, Stitch and Tiki.
